I am Lucas Erb, founder of AIExperts.com. There, a small fleet of software agents does the back office and I do the human parts. Before this I spent five years at Deloitte on the Novel and Exponential Technologies team, working beside CTO Bill Briggs and Chief Futurist Mike Bechtel on the Tech Trends reports and the xTech Futures series. I co-wrote the World Economic Forum Technology Futures Report. LinkedIn named me a Top Voice in AI, an invite-only program.
The other half of the story is more hands-on. At seventeen I was one of the youngest interns in HP's network test lab: the physical, metal, loud and whirring side of data. I helped prove HPE and Cisco switching hardware could interoperate, which contributed to an $11M sale. Before that came robots, a first computer built from parts, and a massive wooden skateboard ramp in the backyard that I still count among my favorite things I ever shipped. Computer science at UC Irvine, Big Data specialization, sailing team. These days I hack together AI apps in coffee shops across Manhattan and sail on the Hudson.
I am a builder by trade, and that has not changed. The throughput has. I commit more code in a week now, with AI doing most of the typing, than I did in all my years of software engineering before it. The speed of imagination is now the speed of creation.
A few things that did not fit anywhere else. In 2019 I founded giv, a platform for modern charitable giving, and won UC Irvine's New Venture Competition with $12,500 across two competitions. I was a Deloitte Summer Scholar at Facebook that same year, working with the machine learning and data team, where I cut analytics load times by a factor of twenty. AWS certified as a solutions architect in 2021. Dean's List, VP of Blockchain at UCI, workshop leader at HackUCI, and an Orange Fellow with the CEO Leadership Alliance.
